Cathay Pacific Choose Sri Lanka as It's Freight Expansion Programme

From 2nd of December 2012 Cathay Pacific Airline is offering cargo freight services to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Mihin Lanka Added New Flight - Airbus 320-200

Sri Lanka's state owned airline Mihin Lanka added another plane to their line up. It is from airbus company of France (Airbus 320-200). Few days ago Mihin Lanka Chief pilot and technical staff went to inspect the flight and after inspections plane arrived to BIA on 21st November.

New Mihin Lanka CEO Kapila Chandrasena took over the plane at BIA and this is the second flight added to Mihin Lanka with in last six months.

Mihin Lanka operates to eight destinations in the Middle East, Indian sub-continent and Southeast Asia in addition to providing seamless connectivity to over 50 destinations via its partner Sri Lanka Airlines. In early September it launched its service to Bahrain and within next few months Mihin Lanka launch services to Madurai, Kathmandu and New Delhi.

Srilankan seek passenger input to improve

To increase service leavel Srilankan airline, sri lanka's national carrier is going to have 'International passenger servey'.

Passengers needs only to fill out a form and hand over to the crew. By filing this form everyone is automatically add into a draw which will give returning air tickets to any country.

Srilankan airline is expecting to handle continuous monitoring system to this 'International passenger servey' and take corrective and preventive actions
to improve.


New deputy minister for civil aviation

Former deputy minister of the finance ministry Hon. Geethanjana Gunawardana today sworn in front of the president Mahinda Rajapaksha as deputy minister of civil aviation.


Srilankan and Mihin Lanka operate from mattala

From srilanka's second international airport (mattala airport) srilankan and Mihin lanka airliner would operate their european and gulf flight s.

Report further says that Mihin lanka and srilankan airlines would be the firsts two airlines to operate from mattala airport (hambanthota international airport) and they would treat mattala as a fully fledge international airport.

But the airline is not going to stop katunayake airport (BIA) operation and passengers may have get the chance to select which airport they want to use.

Srilankan airliner will be in charge of catering, Ground handling, cargo, and they will build engineering facility (MRO) with a international partner,  and world class airline training school.

These airlines expect to generate 250 job chances.
